Market Your Business The Green Way
The hottest topic right now is climate change and the environment. So, if your company isn’t on top of it right now, then it really should be. One of the best ways to show people that your business is green is to make sure that any marketing you do is green, too. But, how can you do it the green way?
Only Use Environmentally Friendly Promotional Items
When it comes to marketing materials, make sure you invest in branded reusable coffee cups, bags, and water bottles, which you can give as gifts to your clients at the same time as promoting your business and saving the planet. Make sure everything you get is useful to your customers, stylish, and something they will want to use.
Print on Recycled Paper
Recycled paper is a quick win when it comes to being green. It is an easy way to show your clients and customers that your business is environmentally conscious. Most printing companies offer an option to have marketing brochures, flyers, or business cards printed on recycled paper that is almost as inexpensive as regular paper.
Companies today need to be able to prove their commitment to eco-friendly causes. So, being transparent, open, and honest is one of the best ways to establish your brand’s authority as a green organization. Make your green goals and objectives of public knowledge. And, then provide updates once those goals have been reached. Use whatever means you can to show people what you’re doing; if you have a rainwater tank from NPI, for example, then find a way to tell people, if you’re running a ‘walk to work’ scheme, make it known and make it normal.
Invest in Online Marketing
Online marketing, or e-marketing, is much more environmentally friendly than offline marketing like direct mail or printed advertising. The good news for small businesses is that it is also much cheaper to use online marketing. Placing an online banner ad is a low-cost alternative to a print ad and produces no printed waste or negative impact on the environment. Social media is also a very cost-effective way to communicate with customers and prospects.
Support Your Local Community
Supporting your local community and interacting with them is an integral part of green marketing as being environmentally-friendly. A big part of green marketing involves building trust from your target audience. Try getting your entire company involved in the community by supporting local charities, community initiatives, eco-friendly programs, and other community activities. Provide incentives for your employees to get involved. Create a mandatory day each quarter. where everyone gets out of the office and participates as a team. And, provide financial help to causes relating to your company’s values. Make sure that you promote this activity by taking photos and videos. Then post them on social media to show your audience that your company practices what they preach. Use Facebook live video and Instagram stories during these community events.
Going Green isn’t difficult, but it is important, important for the planet and important to your customers and your future customers.
